Nirgundi plant is commonly found in the following places: Near water bodies, recently disturbed land, in grasslands, near mixed open forests. It does not need any pre-treatment. Germination is usually free and quick. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots when they are large enough to handle and grow them on in the greenhouse for their first winter. It is rich in medicinal property. It has antiseptic, astringent, antiinflammatory and antipyretic properties. Leaves also cures sprain, headache, abdominal gas and pain, fever, toothache, asthma, cough, ulcers, boils and wounds.
